Economic Development Authority

The Economic Development Authority is a board of local residents that are striving to develop strategies that encourage families to plant their roots in Ghent and encourage & support businesses in order to further the economic prosperity of the City of Ghent.  This board also manages a local redevelopment loan program that can be used by residents to do improvements to their homes.

Recently, the EDA has offered tax abatement to encourage the construction of a new childcare facility that cares for 54 children that opened its doors in 2022.  We have also been working to develop/redevelop lots to make them available for new home construction.  Click below to see lots that are shovel ready.

• Construction of a home must commence within one year of lot purchase and be completed within one year of start.
